In 2017, Event Lounge installed 900 solar panels across the entire roof of the building. This installation enables the venue to meet part of its energy needs directly through solar power. As a result, we not only reduce our energy bills but also rely on a local renewable energy source to minimise our environmental impact year after year.
We have been awarded the highest level of the Eco-dynamic Label, with three stars, in recognition of our time and investment in sustainability. This certification is awarded to businesses that actively work to reduce their environmental impact. Through our eco-management efforts, we have made significant improvements across various aspects of our venue.
In 2023, we obtained the Green Key certification for the first time and have renewed it every year since.
By carefully selecting our catering partners, we ensure that they adhere to our sustainability code of conduct, established in 2015. Some of our caterers are 100% organic certified or B Corp™ certified, while others hold the Eco-dynamic Label.
By assessing our environmental impact at every stage of an event and working closely with our catering partners, we have achieved significant improvements in energy consumption, water usage, waste management and mobility.
To combat the growing problem of food waste, we have implemented an effective solution in partnership with Alpaca ABL.
Since January 2023, all our catering partners have been encouraged to donate surplus meals rather than let them go to waste. Our main objective is to raise awareness of surplus food management and promote a sustainable approach to reducing food waste.
Following each event, a report is generated to provide measurable data on the impact of these initiatives.
